The Banking & Compliance team at Shine

Your role as a Senior Project Manager, (Single Euro Payment Area)

As our Senior Project Manager, SEPA, you’ll be the central point of contact for everything related to Payment Methods, bridging internal teams, external Providers, and the broader product vision. Reporting to the Director of Banking Projects and Providers, your remit spans SEPA, SDD, International Transfers and beyond.

Day-to-day, you'll lead implementation projects for new payment methods, run due diligence on prospective providers, and own the ongoing relationships and SLAs with our most critical partners. You keep things moving, and you keep our providers accountable.

The bigger goal: make sure our payments infrastructure is scalable, built for efficiency, and never a blocker to where Product wants to go. Provider performance isn't just tracked; it's actively managed against contractual commitments and strategic KPIs.

With Shine expanding across France, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, this is a role with real scope, you'll have visibility into new products across all four markets as they come to life.

What You'll Be Doing:

Project Management

• You'll own the full lifecycle of Payment Rail providers from initial administration and KYC through to enabling technical go-live alongside Product and Tech. Before a single line gets built, you'll work closely with the Product & Operations teams to map out how new Payment Methods could be implemented: surfacing risks early, identifying critical dependencies, and assessing regulatory impact. You'll also keep a forward eye on incoming regulation (PSD3/PSR and beyond), running gap analyses to make sure Shine's setup stays ahead of what's coming rather than scrambling to catch up.

Provider Management

• You'll hold our Providers to account. That means monitoring SLAs, stepping in when service quality dips, and having the commercial conversations needed to get more value out of existing contracts whether that's on pricing, product scope, or service terms. When a new provider is needed, you'll run the full RFP process: collecting Product and Operations requirements, sourcing candidates, and evaluating responses. On the incident side, you’ll make sure the right remediation or service credit mechanisms are triggered when SLAs are breached.

Expertise

• Beyond your own projects, you'll be the go-to internally for anything touching payment rail mechanics supporting Ops and Support teams as the landscape evolves. And you won't just react to what's in front of you: you'll actively look for opportunities to expand and strengthen our Provider and Product ecosystem.

Job located in Paris, France with possibility of two remote working days per week

What you Bring:

• You bring at least 8 years in a bank or fintech environment, with hands-on experience across SEPA payments — Standard, Instant and Direct Debit — and familiarity with broader payment rails like SWIFT, DKK and international transfers.

• You're professionally fluent in both French and English, spoken and written. Given the cross-border nature of the role and the providers you'll be working with, this isn't negotiable.

• On the regulatory side, you have a solid grasp of payment systems, KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, and the European landscape including how bodies like ACPR and BaFin operate and what they expect.

• You know how to manage providers: how to build the relationship, hold the line in a negotiation, and keep things constructive even when performance falls short.

• You're someone who takes genuine ownership. You don't pass the baton when things get complicated you see things through, from first principles to final delivery.

• And when a decision needs to be made, you back it with numbers. Whether that's a business case, an ROI analysis, or a quantitative sanity check, you're comfortable doing the work to make the case.
