Senior AI Engineer

Your mission

We're hiring a Senior AI Engineer with a strong background in building production AI systems on top of solid backend foundations (APIs, infra, data). You'll own the AI layer of our stack end-to-end, from voice agents and conversational flows to the evaluation and observability tooling that keeps them trustworthy, working hand-in-hand with the founders, the product team, design, and growth.

At Vocca you will be

• Designing AI systems that are fast, reliable, secure, and measurable.

• Scaling Vocca's voice agents to millions of calls across tens of thousands of medical practices.

• Taming non-determinism: building agents that are observable, evaluated continuously, and that degrade gracefully when models misbehave.

• Setting the bar for how AI engineering is done at Vocca, from architecture to evaluation to culture, and raising the level of the team.

You'll set the bar for quality, velocity, and impact.

Who you are

This is for you if:

• You've shipped LLM or agent systems in production, with a strong backend base (APIs, infra, data).

• You love full ownership: from architecture to deployment to monitoring.

• You measure instead of guessing: you care about evaluation, reliability, and explainability of AI behavior, not just speed.

• You manage the trade-off between performance, cost, and latency on every agent decision.

• You think simplicity is what makes software scale: you ship fast, but always with maintainability in mind.

• You're driven by AI, voice, and healthcare, and want to apply your skills to a meaningful problem.

3️⃣ Take-home test

4️⃣ Take-home test debrief + Technical interview in our office with several members of the technical team (1h30)

5️⃣ C-Level interview with Hugo Danet, our CTO (30 min)
