Postdoctoral Position in Circular RNA Biology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Position Overview
The Arbibe Laboratory at Institut Necker Enfants Malades is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with strong hands-on expertise in circular RNA (circRNA) biology, to investigate how circRNAs — together with other non-canonical RNA species such as double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) — contribute to intestinal inflammation and epithelial repair in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
The position is part of an ANR-funded consortium project, will start in February 2027, and is funded for 3 years.

Research Focus
The successful candidate will investigate RNA regulatory mechanisms in intestinal inflammation, with particular emphasis on:
- Circular RNA (circRNA) biogenesis, functional characterization, and regenerative potential in the intestinal epithelium
- RNA regulatory mechanisms underlying intestinal inflammation and epithelial repair in IBD
- Double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) biology in the gut epithelium
- Molecular and cellular approaches combined with intestinal organoids, mouse models, and human IBD samples

The postdoctoral researcher will interact closely with scientists and clinicians at INEM and with the broader Paris biomedical research community, including Paris Cité University, Institut Pasteur and Sorbonne Université.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent degree in RNA biology, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology or a related discipline. Strong expertise in RNA biology is essential for this position.
Eligibility requirement: candidates must have defended their PhD within the last 2 years at the time of application.

Expertise
Hands-on expertise in circular RNA (circRNA) biology — validation (divergent RT-PCR, RNase R resistance, back-splice junction sequencing) and functional characterization — is mandatory for this position.
The following additional skills would be an advantage:
- RIP-seq, CLIP/eCLIP-seq, or related RNA–protein/RNA interaction mapping approaches
- Epitranscriptomic approaches
- Experience with mouse models and/or intestinal organoid culture
