Deutsche Börse Group - Intern - Software Engineer JBoss Migration

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern for a 6-month internship to support the modernization of a critical business application used in our Finance technology environment. In a constantly evolving technology landscape, keeping core platforms up to date is essential to ensure performance, maintainability, and long-term resilience. As part of this internship, you will contribute to a major migration project by upgrading our application server from JBoss 7 to JBoss 8, assessing technical impacts, and helping implement the required fixes in a Java-based application. Your responsibilities Support the migration of a critical application from JBoss 7 to JBoss 8. Analyze technical impacts of the migration. Identify compatibility issues and implement corrective actions. Contribute to code updates and refactoring in Java. Collaborate with senior engineers to validate fixes and ensure application stability. Help document findings, migration steps, and best practices for future upgrades. Your profile You are enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with a recognized institution and can provide an internship agreement, or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree or similar for no more than 6 months. Good understanding of Java development, especially object-oriented concepts and inheritance. Strong analytical skills to assess migration impacts and troubleshoot issues. Rigorous, autonomous, and detail-oriented way of working. Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams. Knowledge of JBoss EAP is a strong advantage. French is mandatory; English is a plus. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift is a plus.
