Summer Analyst - Global Markets Division

About the Program

Our 10-week Summer Intern Program immerses participants in the day-to-day activities of the Global Markets Division (GMD), which encompasses Sales, Trading, Debt Capital Markets, Securitization, and Structuring. Interns are placed on a specific desk while also benefiting from job shadowing opportunities across the division.

The program curriculum includes:

• Mentorship from both senior and junior professionals
• Completion of team-assigned projects with real business impact
• Formal training sessions on markets, products, and professional skills
• Speaker series, networking events, and social programming

About the Role

Interns are assigned to one of the following teams within GMD. All placements offer hands-on market experience and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully from day one.

GMD Teams (Part 1 of 3)

Capital Markets Funding (CMF)

Primary Credit – Debt Capital Markets & Syndicate

DCM and Syndicate provide strategic advice to bond issuers (Corporates, Financial Institutions, and Sovereigns) in the Americas on the structure, size, and timing of USD and EUR bond offerings. DCM leads origination; Syndicate drives market placement and execution.

Intern responsibilities may include:

• Assisting senior originators with presentations and market updates
• Coordinating with coverage, legal, and sales teams to execute new bond transactions
• Supporting internal and external due diligence processes
• Maintaining internal databases and producing credit and comparable analysis

Securitization

The Securitization team originates and structures secured financing solutions via asset- or cash flow-based structures, refinanced through term ABS, Private Placement, or Asset-Backed CP markets. Asset classes include trade receivables, consumer and mortgage loans, operating assets (vehicle fleets, transport, energy), and infrastructure assets.

Intern responsibilities may include:

• Supporting origination and structuring of ABS and private placement transactions
• Assisting with client materials and deal documentation
• Conducting market and asset-class research

Strategic Equity Transactions (SET)

SET offers tailored structured equity solutions and derivatives for publicly listed Corporates and their strategic shareholders. Products include forward ATM, post-IPO equity financing (margin loans, prepaid collars), accelerated share repurchases (ASR), convertible bond hedging (capped calls), share price hedges, and accelerated minority share acquisitions and disposals.

Intern responsibilities may include:

• Supporting transaction structuring and execution across SET's product suite
• Preparing client presentations and deal analyses
• Assisting with market monitoring and comparable transaction research

Pay: $48.08 per hour

GMD Teams (Part 2 of 3)
Global Markets Sales (GMS)
CACIB's sales function is organized across three groups: Financial Institutions Flow Sales (Rates, FX/EM, Credit, Short-Term/Repo), Financial Institutions Solutions Sales (Cross-Asset Distribution and Own Funds), and Corporate Sales (Rate and FX solutions for Corporate Clients and Private Capital Sponsors).
Intern responsibilities may include:
Providing pre- and post-trade support to sales staff, including direct client interaction
Conducting data analysis to support business strategy, market analysis, and trade idea generation
Building client-facing and executive-facing presentations
Maintaining and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly reports (pricing data, market color)
Utilizing proprietary sales/trading platforms to develop an understanding of credit risk
Analyzing daily flows to identify market trends

Global Markets Trading (GMT) & Global Repo and Indexing (GRI)
The Americas trading desks cover: Linear Rates (Swaps, US Treasuries), Non-Linear Rates (IR Options, Bond Options), Foreign Exchange (G10 and EM), Credit (IG and HY), and Global Repo and Indexing (US Treasury Repo, Total Return Swaps, Credit/ABS Repo).
Intern responsibilities may include:
Shadow pricing transactions using trading tools and suggesting hedging strategies
Supporting daily desk operations including PnL reporting and position reconciliation
Analyzing historical trade data to generate reports and propose trade ideas

  Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States — visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future (including CPT, OPT, and F-1)
  • Available for the full 10-week program (June – August 2027)

  GMD Teams (Part 3 of 3) Global Markets Structuring Structuring is a team of financial engineering specialists focused on developing innovative, bespoke solutions for clients. The team works closely with Sales and Trading to price and execute complex transactions, develop product offerings, and advise clients on risk. Coverage spans all GMD asset classes — fixed income, equity, hybrids, and secured financing — across Corporate, Financial Institutions, and Transversal mandates.Intern responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the development and marketing of structured product solutions
  • Assisting with pricing and execution of complex cross-asset transactions
  • Contributing to risk advisory work and platform enhancement initiatives
  • Engaging with legal, compliance, tax, and regulatory workstreams as relevant

  • Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management; ability to work both collaboratively and independently
