The role

While the broader market experiments with disconnected Generative AI prototypes, the real battleground for global enterprises is production, security, and scale. Generic AI solutions fall flat because they lack organizational context and cannot securely access siloed systems like ERPs, HRIS, or CRM platforms.

LumApps AI solves this "Last Mile Integration" challenge. We do not just license an AI platform; we embed elite technical teams directly into client environments to turn AI Agents, Micro-Apps, and deep system integrations into enterprise-grade value drivers.

As our Forward Deployed Engineering Manager (FDE Manager) , you will be the driving operational force behind customer-facing technical delivery. This is an active, delivery-centric management role: you are not sitting on the sidelines writing strategy docs, nor are you an individual contributor coding all day. Instead, you are orchestrating high-velocity technical rollouts across multiple enterprise clients while leading, unblocking, and holding accountable an elite squad of Forward Deployed Engineers.

You sit squarely at the intersection of client commitments, rapid engineering execution, and platform hardening. You will own delivery timelines, technical solution designs, risk mitigation, and engineer resourcing, ensuring your team ships production-grade AI Agents, RAG workflows, and enterprise integrations on schedule. Simultaneously, you act as the critical bridge back to Core R&D—ensuring field solutions are packaged into scalable, reusable platform features rather than one-off custom code.

Technical Delivery Management & Execution

• Own end-to-end delivery accountability across concurrent customer deployments, from technical discovery to production go-live and enterprise sign-off.

• Translate customer use cases into structured technical roadmaps, work breakdowns, and release sprints; ruthlessly manage backlogs, technical scope, and critical delivery paths.

• Run technical risk management: proactively spot architectural bottlenecks, integration blockers, and third-party API dependencies before they impact delivery timelines.

• Step in during critical architectural debates, escalations, or complex debugging sessions to unblock engineers and maintain rapid deployment velocity.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, balancing technical rigor, customer empathy, and urgency.

• Allocate engineering capacity and match talent to enterprise projects based on skill set, architectural complexity, and client criticality.

• Set high standards for code quality, continuous deployment, automated testing, and secure system design within customer environments.

• Drive regular performance coaching, technical feedback loops, and career progression for your engineers.

Client Steering & Technical Governance

• Act as the lead delivery point of contact and technical escalation manager for client IT leads, enterprise architects, and program sponsors.

• Run technical governance, architecture review meetings, and milestone check-ins with client stakeholders to ensure alignment and build trust.

• Partner with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Account Executives to scope upcoming enterprise engagements and establish realistic, high-impact delivery commitments.

Core Product Hardening & Reusability

• Systematize the work: mandate that your team abstracts bespoke customer integrations into reusable "Industry Vertical Packs," plug-and-play connectors, and deployment templates.

• Partner directly with Core R&D and AI Platform teams, facilitating code contributions (PRs) from your team back into our central codebase to eliminate technical debt.

Profile & Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering background , with solid hands-on roots in backend systems, APIs, and modern languages (Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Java; SQL and relational databases).

• 3+ years of people management experience , with demonstrated success leading software or solutions engineering teams through active, multi-client technical deliveries.

• Proven Track Record in Customer-Facing Delivery: Substantial experience in forward deployed engineering, enterprise solutions architecture, technical consulting, or professional services where you managed high-stakes delivery commitments.

• Enterprise Systems & Security Acumen: Deep familiarity with integrating complex enterprise ecosystems (SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and identity/security frameworks (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, RBAC).

• AI & Automation Fluency: Strong working knowledge of Generative AI implementations in enterprise settings (RAG architectures, LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, API-based agents).

• Agile Project Command: Expert-level mastery of running high-velocity delivery sprints, scoping MVPs, managing customer trade-offs, and tracking delivery metrics in tools like Jira.

• Communication & Presence: Fluent in English; exceptionally skilled at managing executive stakeholders, translating technical risk into business context, and facilitating difficult scope conversations.

• Travel: Willingness to travel periodically (approx. 10–15%) for key kickoff workshops, solution reviews, or critical on-site go-lives.

Bonus Points

• Experience working inside high-growth B2B SaaS environments dealing with fast-scaling infrastructure (Kubernetes, GCP/Azure, event-driven Pub/Sub).

• Background turning custom client deliveries into off-the-shelf product features or SDKs.

• Professional proficiency in French.
