Founded in 2019 with the support of the European Union , SiPearl embodies Europe's dream of mastering the technological heart of its supercomputers: the microprocessor.

SiPearl is building Rhea, the high-performance, low-power European microprocessor dedicated to supercomputing and AI inference.

This new generation of microprocessors will first target EuroHPC Joint Undertaking ecosystem, which is deploying world-class supercomputing infrastructures in Europe for solving major challenges in medical research, artificial intelligence, security, energy management and climate with a reduced carbon footprint.

SiPearl is working in close collaboration with its 30 partners from the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium - leading names from the scientific community, supercomputing centers and industry - which are its stakeholders, future clients and end-users.

SiPearl employs more than 190 people in:

About the role

We are currently seeking highly motivated R&D engineers to join our AI team, you will work closely with Etienne Renault, our Compiler Team Leader.

What a regular day at the job might look like:

• Evaluate, port, and optimize AI applications for our architecture.
• Estimate the performance of the next generation of high-performance chips developed at SiPearl.
• Participate in the optimization of AI frameworks and workflows to exploit heterogeneous memories and specificities of Arm architectures.
• Collaborate with other teams to guide the development of new optimizations.
• Improve the overall performance of AI and HPC workloads.
• Collaborate with customers and external partners, from both industry and academia, to gather information on requirements.
• Contribute to collaborative projects.

What would make you succeed in this role:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in benchmarking, performance analysis and optimizing AI applications on various hardware
• Strong background in machine learning and deep learning techniques, notably LLM
• Hands-on experience working with deep learning toolkits such as Tensorflow or PyTorch.
• Experience in using/implementing/training/fine-tuning/optimizing foundation models or generative model
• Good ability to extract and analyze results.
• Proven experience with python/C++ programming, bash, and Linux
• Experience on ARM architecture
• Experience on vectorisation and/or heterogeneous memories
• Comfortable parallel/distributed paradigms
• Familiarity with ML infrastructures, such as MLIR
• Experience with natural language processing, computer vision, or audio processing generative models (including LLM, Diffusion models, GANs, VAEs..).
• Proven R&D experience

• Fluency in English is a prerequisite for success in this role, as effective communication in English is essential for collaboration and ensuring the seamless execution of responsibilities.
