You will work across the full product lifecycle, from early concepts and prototyping to manufacturing and industrialization, ensuring that every component meets performance, reliability, and cost objectives. This role requires strong ownership, curiosity, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design from concept to production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturabilityDevelop 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings using Onshape or equivalent softwareCollaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure integration and serviceabilityManage large assemblies and ensure configuration control across design revisionsSupport prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design performanceOptimize designs for industrialization and coordinate with manufacturing partnersEnsure compliance with design standards, reliability criteria, and DFM best practicesParticipate in design reviews and provide technical guidance within the engineering teamProfile / QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent6+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturingExpertise in CAD design (Onshape, SolidWorks, or CATIA) and large assembly managementSolid understanding of materials, mechanical analysis, and industrial processesExperience with product testing, validation, and design for manufacturabilityComfortable with hands-on prototyping and integration in workshop environmentsStrong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skillsFluent in English, proficiency in French is a plusEqual OpportunityInterstellar Lab is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
