Job Description: An opportunity for an FTI Installation Design Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). By joining the Flight Test Installation (FTI) Design Team, you will become part of a highly multidisciplinary and multicultural department. We are responsible for designing the critical flight test installations and instrumentation required for aircraft Certification, Qualification, Testing, and continuous product improvement. In this role, you will play a key part in both electrical and mechanical design, directly reinforcing our team in the definition and implementation of complex FTI installations across key Airbus Defence & Space Programs. RESPONSIBILITIES The main tasks and deliverables of the jobholder will include:
- Design and integrate electrical system installations and functional electrical architectures.
- Prepare and release detailed wiring diagrams and electrical routing definitions.
- Develop and integrate mechanical system installations and structural design solutions for FTI.
- Manage and maintain strict configuration control of all designed installations and modifications.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities , performing technical follow-ups and ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
- Support project management by contributing to planning elaboration and budget control activities.
- Education: Aeronautical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Around 5 years of professional experience in engineering and design activities, ideally with a strong focus on FTI.
- Technical knowledge: Professional proficiency in CATIA V5. Knowledge of 3DX, SEE-XP, and Capital Logic is highly desirable.
- Soft skills: High adaptability to work on new technical topics, capability to navigate new business opportunities, and a strong collaborative mindset to work in a networking mode.
- Languages: Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
- Valuable / Nice to have: Previous experience in manufacturing engineering will be highly valued.
